Lake Weiss Fishing Report
DATE: 3-17-01
LAKE LEVEL: 562.10
FULL POOL LEVEL: 564.0
SURFACE TEMP: 54.2 in AM - 55.7 at 3:30 PM.
WATER CLARITY: Most Coves fishable. River still rolling mud. Some coves on the south side of lake a little mud from today's wind.
CRAPPIE: I fished today as hard as I have ever fished in my life for 15
crappie. We had terrible wind today again and for some strange reason a high barometer and the fish went deep and wouldn't bite for
anything. Sorry that today was bad news. Lets hope tomorrow is better. That's why they call it fishing instead of catching.
BASS: Stuff off as well today
WHITE BASS: Did pick up a few white bas today and one stripe.
CATFISH: Had a gentleman miss a huge one off my dock today that straightened the hook on
him. Have no idea what he weighed.
STRIPE: Mixed in with the crappie about everywhere I fished. I have seen the birds in 2-3 areas diving on the stripe
today. But I did not personally stripe fish.
As always this report is based on what myself and my partners are doing.
We all meet for breakfast at Bay Springs Restaurant at 7AM and everyone is
welcome. We will be glad to point you in any direction we can to help you and also give you any knowledge that is helpful to
you. We just want people to enjoy their trip to Weiss Lake.
Sincerely, Steve, Butch & Harry
