This Week's Feature: -Fish Feeding Schedules- http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/aa062998.htm - Do fish feed on a schedule you can figure out and take advantage of?
=======================================
Tip of the Week - Go deep in hot weather. Last Sunday at West Point the few bass I caught were in about 15 feet of water. I found out later the bigger fish were caught 30 to 35 feet deep - much deeper than I tried. Check channel drops and deep points for bass holding there.

======================================
Message Boards - Every post to the Freshwater Fishing Board - http://fishing.about.com/mpboards.htm - during the week is eligible for a prize. Each Monday I will put every post from one Sunday midnight to the next in a 'hat' and draw one as the winner. The winner will be notified by email and posted here. There will be one winner per week.

This contest is, of course, an unabashed attempt to get people to use my boards! The only requirement is that posts must be related to fishing. The board is for fishing info so ask a real question, respond with an answer you know, or post information about a trip you took. They can be original posts or responses to posts. I will use the 'Show Post from 1 week' button to select the posts for the contest. All the details and a list of past winners can be found at http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/blboardcontest.htm

6/29/98 through 7/5/98 - Prize - A crankbait and a pack of worms.

Joke for this Week - This is susposed to be factual!

GOVERNMENT POLICY: SNAKE ATTACK

The following is from the US Government Peace Corps Manual for its volunteers who work in the Amazon Jungle. It tells what to do in case an anaconda attacks you. Now an anaconda is the largest snake in the world. It is a relative of the boa constrictor; it grows to thirty-five feet in length and weighs between three and four hundred pounds at the maximum. This is what the manual said:
1. If an anaconda attacks you, do not run. The snake is faster than you are.
2. Lie flat on the ground. Put your arms tight against your sides, your legs tight against one another.
3. Tuck your chin in.
4. The snake will come and begin to nudge and climb over your body.
5. Do not panic
6. After the snake has examined you, it will begin to swallow you from the feet and - always from the end. Permit the snake to swallow your feet and ankles. Do not panic.
7. The snake will now begin to suck your legs into its body. You must lie perfectly still. This will take a long time.
8. When the snake has reached your knees slowly and with as little movement as possible, reach down, take your knife and very gently slide it into the side of the snake's mouth between the edge of its mouth and your leg, then suddenly rip upwards, severing the snake's head.
9. Be sure you have your knife.
10. Be sure your knife is sharp.

Thought for the Week - Taxation WITH representation isn't so hot, either!

Right Click Trick - Having trouble bookmarking a site you find through The Mining Co because the URL doesn't show? This is a problem with frames. Right click your mouse and the page url you are viewing should show. Then you can copy it and book mark it. Sorry for the trouble.
