This Week's Feature: -My Second Bass Boat - http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/aa980330.htm - A 1977 15 foot Procraft with a 115 Evenrude helped me catch some fish and helped me learn about boat repair!
=======================================
Tip of the Week - I had a great fishing trip with Ron Brooks and Jim Pope last Saturday. I met them through this site - the have written many "Fishtales" here. We fished Lake Wedowee in Alabama. One point where I had caught fish produced no strikes on worms, crankbaits or spinnerbaits. When Jim started throwing one of his home made bucktails, he started catching fish. Of the 18 or so bass we caught, 16 hit the bucktail. We watched two other boats pull up to the point and get no strikes. The fish were there, just very finicky. Tip - try different baits until you find what they want. Don't move so fast the bass don't have a chance to hit.
======================================
Fishtale This Week: - Hog Suckers - http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/bl980330.htm - Jim Pope grew up stalking suckers on the creek with his father. It sounds like a combination of hunting and fishing to me.

Message Boards - My boards don't get much traffic - even with a contest! Is there something you don't like about them or some other problem? Let me know.

Every post to the Freshwater Fishing Board - http://fishing.about.com/mpboards.htm - during the week is eligible for a prize. Each Monday I will put every post from one Sunday midnight to the next in a "hat" and draw one as the winner. The winner will be notified by email and posted here. There will be one winner per week.

This contest is, of course, an unabashed attempt to get people to use my boards! The only requirement is that posts must be related to fishing. The board is for fishing info so ask a real question, respond with an answer you know, or post information about a trip you took. They can be original posts or responses to posts. I will use the "Show Post from 1 week" button to select the posts for the contest. All the details and a list of past winners can be found at http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/blboardcontest.htm

3/29/98 through 4/5/98 - Prize - Lures including a bag of worms, a Rattle Trap (Donated by Berry's Sporting Goods in Griffin, GA) and a Shadrap.
======================================
Joke for this Week - Darwin Award Winner - Jacques LeFevrier left nothing to chance when he decided to commit suicide. He stood at the top of a tall cliff and tied a noose around his neck. He tied the other end of the rope to a large rock. He drank some poison and set fire to his clothes. He even tried to shoot himself at the last moment. He jumped and fired the pistol. The bullet missed him and cut through the rope above him. Free of the threat of hanging, he plunged into the sea. The sudden dunking extinguished the flames and made him vomit the poison. He was dragged out of the water by a kind fisherman and was taken to hospital, where he died of exposure!!!
======================================
Thought for the Week - If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
======================================
Right Click Trick - Having trouble bookmarking a site you find through The Mining Company because the URL doesn't show? This is a problem with frames. Right click your mouse and the page url you are viewing should show. Then you can copy it and book mark it. Sorry for the trouble.
======================================
