Susan Dameron - In The Beginning On The Women's Bassmaster Tour

Susan at her first WBT weigh-in Susan Dameron is getting ready for her second 2008 WBT tournament at Neely-Henry in Alabama this week after placing seventh as a co-angler in the first one. This article is her memories of her first WBT tournament in 2006, also on Neely-Henry. She tells how nervous she was then and how each day went, with a limit the first day and no fish on the second. There is nothing that can prepare you for such a tournament but the learning experience at one is irreplacable and can't be gotten anywhere else.

Mother's Day Fishing

I don't know if my mother instilled my love of fishing in me or if she just allowed it to grow. Either way, I got it from her and her mother. Both of them would rather fish than eat - proved to me many times when meals were skipped to go fishing. So, whether its heredity or environment, taught or inborn, I was lucky to get such a heavy dose of fishing desire. It has been an important part of my life. Mother's Day is a good time to consider such an upbringing...

Fishing With Mother

When my mother died I lost my best fishing partner. We shared many great trips together and the memores of those trips helped me get through the grief at her death. I still think of her each time I go fishing.
