Alaska pink salmon are very plentiful in rivers and streams. They tend to be small with most in the three to five pound range. Their meat is soft when they start to change so it is not as popular as some other species. They fight hard with sizzling runs acros shallow bars and jump often.
Pink salmon are also called humpback salmon for the pronounced hump they develop when they come into fresh water.
