The Bottom Line
I got an Ambassadeur 5600 EXT baitcasting reel at an outdoor writers meeting. Paired with a Lightning Rod it and excellent reel for casting heavy line and will handle light lures on it because of its magnetic antibacklash adjustment. It is very smooth and the drag system works well.

Guide Review - Ambassadeur 5600 Bait Casting Reel
Ambassadeur reels are some of my favorites. They hold up a very long time - I am still using reels I have fished hard for over 30 years with little maintenence. Although this is a round reel it handles well and works with heavy line and light lures. The star drag system is easy to adjust and very smooth. The thumbbar release is easy to use, too.
