Maptech's new i3 module is the world's first touch screen, hi-resolution 3D FishFinder. Fishermen can see the ocean like a fish does swimming within its own 3D world in real-time. They can see individual fish, sorted by size and grouped, sitting in Maptech's detailed 3D Contour Charts. The 3D FishFinder is a new option to Maptech's innovative i3 Touch Screen Command System.
The i3 Touch Screen Command (a hardware/software multifunctional system) integrates everything from navigating with radar overlay, to satellite communications with detailed weather to locating fish. It's like having a personal fishing information hub at the helm.
With just a touch of your finger on the screen you can create a route on official NOAA charts, overlay radar images on charts and photos, receive weather data like, sea surface temperature, sea state and more, and communicate via email, fax or phone, and of course locate and hopefully catch more fish. Just touching the computer screen controls it all.
The enhanced 3D Contour Charts not only show bottom contours, shelves, and structure in easy to read color gradations, but also thousands of obstructions and shipwrecks from Maptech's extensive databases integrated with tide and currents. Now you can easily see and understand why fish are where they are.
Major Features:
Highlights (See site for a complete tour)(br)
1. The smart 22-degree beam, 170 kHz transom or thru-hull transducer reads deep water down to 800-1000 feet without losing detail - even in shallow water.
2. The field of view and detail sets a new standard for accuracy-easily distinguishing between hard and soft bottom. See rocks, coral and weed beds, and more. The astonishing detail is accomplished using the i3 high-resolution (800 x 600) marinized touch screens -- available in 12 or 15 inch.
3. The 3D FishFinder shows enough bottom structure so you always have a clear picture of the changing landscape at all times. Fish targets can be shown as detailed multi-color arches or as one of five fish symbols-bait, small, medium, large, or even grouped and displayed with depth and time.
The power of Touch Screen Command:
An example
Your finger controls the way you see the data. With one touch you can split the screen with the fish targets on one side and the contour or navigation chart on the other and a lot more... See a fish you want to go back to? Just tap the fish on the screen and follow the directional arrow back to your target or let the autopilot take you there. It's that simple.
Maybe you saw a fish yesterday that you want to go back to today? No problem. The 3D FishFinder automatically keeps a GPS real-time record. Scroll back though days of history and once you spot the fish just touch the screen and the 3D FishFinder will take you to the spot. ]
