We fished West Point one day and Jackson the other three. Water at both lakes was stained pretty heavy - you could see a crankbait down about six or eight inches. Water temps were 58 to 60 degrees and falling. The first day at West Point was windy and cloudy, then the next three were pretty clear and colder.
Almost all the fish hit crankbaits. Most hit a Fat Free Shad in chartreuse or a Bandit chartreuse bait. The catfish hit a Rattlin Rap.
My biggest of the trip was a 3.5 pound fish that hit a jig and pig at West Point. Fritz had one about the same size at Jackson that hit a crankbait. Most of the bass we caught were spots, but the biggest two were largemouth.
The pictures show each of our biggest bass and Fritz's catfish. We invited it and some of the spots home for supper - they sure were good!
Check the forum for more details on our trip, and my tournament on Sunday at Jackson.
