It took two 10 foot sections of pipe on the pond side. I did not want to go all the way to the bottom of the pond. It was a good thing since a couple of times it ran until the end of the pipe was exposed.

I tried putting a screen over the end of the pipe but it kept it from working right. Each time I used it a few bream and a couple of little turtles were sucked through it. I would find them tangled in the roots at the end of the pipe.

You can see how far the pond has been pulled down in this picture - the level dropped about 17 feet.
