National Safe Boating Week is held each year during the third week of May. This is the time for boaters to be alert to safe boating practices and especially to wear a life jacket.

This year National Safe Boating Week is May 19th-25th, 2007. Be sure you know the "rules of the road" when driving a boat and be respectful of others on the water and shores.

Boats are a great way to help you catch more fish by opening up areas you can't fish without one, but they can be dangerous, too. Drive your boat carefully and always watch what other boaters are doing.

People are killed each year in boating mistakes. Don't be one of the boaters causing an accident, and watch to avoid accidents that others may cause.
