Jim Shepherd lives in Alabama and loves all outdoor sports including fishing, hunting, shooting and other activities that get him out of the house. He also writes columns and articles for the "Wires" he edits as well as for other publications. He is a member of the Southeastern Outdoor Writers Association, Professional Outdoor Media Association and other organizations.

Jim's electronic news services are the sources of daily news and information to the outdoor industry. He has held a number of senior news executive positions during his career, including CNN (he was a founding member), Financial News Network, the Golf Channel and other television networks.

He began his career in his native Kentucky covering sports for the weekly local paper. A native of Gravel Switch, Kentucky, Shepherd now live in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife, Leigh, and daughters Lauren and Erica.
