Getting a Bug In Your Ear While Fishing

Bug In Ear While Fishing

By Ronnie Garrison, About.com

From Jeff Smith:

About a month ago, my buddy and I were night fishing and bug of some kind flew into my ear. It went all the way down to my eardrum and everytime it flapped its wings against my eardrum, I went absolutely crazy. Like an idiot, I poured water down my ear in an attempt to wash it out. It only caused it to stick to my eardrum and flap its wings even harder.

I guess being in my ear messed up my equilibrium, so that I had trouble maintaining my balance and I was freaking out really bad. We had to go back to the boat ramp, load up the boat and go home. My buddy's wife used some kind of suction device used to clear the nostrils of babies to finally flush out the tiny moth. Weird experience.
