Catching schooling bass can be easy and is always fun.

We are getting to the time of the year where the bass are chasing bait and schooling bass are all over the lake! It is an ideal time to grab your young child or grandson and have some fun catching the schooling fish. As always has been the case, getting a young child interested in fishing just takes enough opportunities for them to hook up. So, if the activity is strong they generally learn to love it real quick. We are approaching the time of year where you can go to the water and offer up a lot of fun with very little effort.

Some of the latest and greatest in equipment in the last few years has offered up a way to catch these schooling fish real easy and at the same time have a blast with some young folks. It's called a jigging spoon. There are many jigging spoons on the market that can offer this fun. To catch these schooling fish all you need to do is buy some light weight 4 to 6 inch jigging spoons. They are cheap nad they have excellent coloring. They also have a lot of flash and catching schooling fish is all about flash.

From here it's easy. All you have to do is look for the schooling fish in the mornings or evenings. When you find them take that big lightweight jigging spoon and throw it out past the schools and slowly wind it back through the schools. The only key is to move it fast enough to keep it in the top 4 to 6 feet of water yet slow enough to let the flash movement from side to side work for you.

That's it, you will catch fish. Tthey will probably be small but don't bet on the fact that a big one doesn't get into the game and before you end the day you hook up with a big fish as well as a lot of fish.

Try it is a great way to have some fun!
