VanDam No. 1, Omori In 9th

By Ronnie Garrison, About.com

Following are the State Farm-BassFan World Rankings as updated after last week's Bassmaster Classic championship tournament on North and South Carolina' Lake Wylie. Notable items:

> Thanks in part to his 3rd-place finish at Wylie, Kevin VanDam once again takes over the No. 1 slot. Mark Davis falls to 2nd, a little over 2 points behind.

> Skeet Reese's 11th-place finish at Wylie helps him move up three slots to 3rd, the highest he's ever been ranked.

> Gerald Swindle finished close to the bottom at the Classic and falls one spot, to 4th in the world.

> Greg Hackney remains in 5th, but Alton Jones falls two spots to 6th. Gary Klein remains in 7th.

> A 5th-place finish at Wylie helps Kelly Jordon move up two slots into 8th.

> Classic winner Takahiro Omori jumps up nine slots into 9th. He hasn't been that high in the rankings since 2001.

> Mark Kile, who has chosen not to fish the Bassmaster Tour for the foreseeable future, drops one spot to 10th.

> Dropping a good Classic finish from 2 years ago and adding a bad one (48th at Wylie) hurts Tim Horton, who falls nine spots to 17th.

> Dean Rojas, who finished 4th at Wylie, climbs five slots to 19th.

> A 9th at Wylie helps Marty Stone jump up 12 slots to 23rd.

> Aaron Martens' 2nd-place finish at the Classic helps him climb six slots to 24th.
