We caught fish on almost every stop with lots of good keeper fish in the 2-3.5 pound range, to include three good fish over 4.5 pounds. Big fish for the group was a 5.95 caught on white buzz bait. The vast majority of fish we caught today came from 2-8 feet of water mainly on T-rigged worms and Buzz baits.
Nickajack has great ledge and channel grass fishing! It’s still getting hot out there after about 10am, please drink lots of water and use sunscreen even on cloudy days. Tim’s Ford Fishing Reports – Spent yesterday evening and this morning on Tim’s Ford with fishermen from Ohio. We found good conditions with most fish still relating to secondary points that had shad on them till late morning. Most fish were in the 1-3.5 pound range and all where smallmouth. Water temps are 82-86 degrees depending on the time of day.
Our better fish came on Tightline Football Jig’s (Guntersville Special or Pumpkin Orange). We also fished XD6 Crank Baits and flukes rigged weightless with limited results. I still have a few days available this month.
