How Can I Catch More Bass

I went fishing today from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM with my friend at a freshwater lake. We were both using worms on light spinning reels. He had 10 lb "smoke green" line and I used 12lb "fluorescent blue" line that changed from clear to blue in the sun. I later switched to Cajun red 10lb line. We both rigged our worms with the same kind of hook Texas style. He was using a light brown worm with dark spots and I was using a green worm with red and black spots. both roughly 6 inches long.

He had caught 4 bass in about half an hour on it and I had caught nothing. He gave me one of his worms and I tried that for a while. I still had no bites what so ever. I would let the worm sink to the bottom and give it a few twitches, then repeat. We were both casting in the same spot.

I remained "fishless" the entire day.
