The day we did do well the bass were on the edges of the grass lines working bait most of the day. We found them by pitching small size Tight-Line jigs in Guntersville red and a red trailer. Other than that we had to look for schooling fish to get a bite.
The schooling bass were also very sensitive to bait selection. The only way we could get them to bite was to work a jigging spoon, popping it off the bottom. The exciting thing about working a jigging spoon is you never know what you might catch. We caught stripers, white bass catfish and small bass.
At some point before the cold winter sets in we should see some strong activity and the fishing should pick. I still believe fishing, even on the slow days, beats a day at work any day.
