The first week of July has been the best I can remember in years. In fact, I went and researched my 17 years of history and there is no doubt this past week is the best my history shows for size and numbers.

The down side of this past week is that there is just not the top water activity that my past history shows for similar time frame in other years. We have done just OK on top with SWL buzz baits working some and buzz frogs, PopRs and Spooks holding a close second for activity on top.

The bait that has caught most of the fish for me has been soft plastics like Mister Twister big worms and Comida’s. We have on the windy days caught fish on Punisher’s Spinner Baits and swimming a Tight-Line jig over the grass.

I saw a lot of smiles from some happy customers they caught a boat load of fish everyday. Each person managed to catch or have a shot at a big fish on a daily bases. The good times are many and the summer has been very productive. There is a lot of great fishing left for the summer, I hope everyone can get on the water and experience it.
