There are some very strong reasons that bridge fishing can be very productive for the bass fisherman. The most prevalent of reasons is the bridge areas are full of bait fish all year long. I don't care if its hot or cold when you go under a bridge, if you look at your depth finder the bait is just stacked on every drop, stump, break and structure under or near that bridge. As we all know if there is bait there are bass lurking about!
The next advantage is that bridges are a consistent area for water movement. If there is any kind of breeze, or they are pulling water, the water under the bridge is going to be moving. Moving water generally means bass activity. They feed more around moving water and the water generally has a ripple that deflects the light and keeps the bass active.
The most obvious reason is that for the bridge to be constructed properly they had to dredge areas around and under it. This dredging has caused man-made drops, points and structure. There is probably rock along the edges and usually dropped into some of the deepest areas under the bridge. This produces man-made structure and great areas to fish.
Work the breaks, work the points and work the structure under and around the bridge, I promise you some of the best catches on Guntersville have been produced around the bridges, and you can benefit by working them.
