Freshwater Fishing Poll
Global Warming
These polls test your knowledge of global warming - with a twist. This is a good example of push poling or pollaganda - getting the answers you want by the questions asked and the answers allowed. These polls are very blatant - many are much more subtle than these are but just as biased.
Answer these polls and I will analyze the answers to see what fishermen think of global warming and publish the results.
Weather has run in cycles for all of history and from before man was on earth, based on all data found. Our last Ice Age was only 20,000 years ago, a very short time in the life of the earth. We are warmer than we were during the last ice age but cooler than during many times during the past.
The spring of 2006 has been much cooler than normal in the southern US. Weather that changes from the average or norm happens every year.
Global warming experts claim, at the most, global warming will cause the earth's average temperature to go up about three degrees in the next 100 years. Since daily temperatures change more than that from morning to night and water surface temperatures change that much every day, this proves:
Back in the 1930s the Dust Bowl was caused by a severe drought that affected much of the US. Cycles of drought and high rainfall happen regularly in different parts of the US and the World. This has happened throughout history.
The winter of 2000/2001 was the coldest in 115 years in Lincoln, Nebraska and the winter of 2003 was the coldest since 1979 and recorded the most snowfall in years in the Northeast
According to the "experts" every time you go fishing or hunting or use any products from oil in any other way you contribute to global warming. How many days of fishing and hunting are you willing to give up each year to help stop global warming.
For every "scientists," politician and actor quoted saying global warming is a problem there is at least one reputable scientist saying global warming is questionable at best and is probably just normal weather cycles.
The higher number of hurricanes in 2005 have been cited as proof of Global Warming by some. Until last year, 1950 produced the highest number of hurricanes in the US history.
These polls are somewhat silly, but I challenge anyone to dispute the facts given. When you see poll results, question them. Many are much more sutble but just as biased as these are.
