Lake Weiss Fishing Report

DATE: 6-17-03
LAKE LEVEL:
563.6
NORMAL LEVEL FULL POOL:
564.0
SURFACE TEMP: 78 in am - 81 evening
WATER CLARITY:
Good

CRAPPIE: Crappie fishing is still pretty good, 6 to 12 ft deep on drops and the old river channel ledge and any visible structure you can see or find. Still biting good around the bridges at night.

BASS:
Bass fishing has been strong. 6 to 10 ft or water around any hump or drop you can find. Spinner, buzz bait early around the grass, soft plastic Carolina rig later on in the day.

STRIPE: A few stripe being taken on the sand bar out in front of little river, also where the chatooga runs in to little river. Some in the powerhouse cut early.

BREAM: NO REPORT

WHITE BASS:
Few being taken around the mouth of Mud Creek, up to chainsaw cove. Best bait seems to be a white rooster tail, cut the barbs off and you will get them off a whole lot easier.

CATFISH: Doing well on jugs and trot lines.

CARP: All you want, come and get them.

Water is up and clear, fish are biting, now is the time to scratch that itch.

Sincerely,  Steve
