Fishing this week has been good. The south side of the lake has been hot with live bait
(shiners) and artificial. Topwater in the morning has been producing some nice action.
Work your bait slow.
Fish continue to move on and off their beds. We still have the full moon coming up and
with stable weather we should have a great bedding activity. While fishing at this time of
year, it is best to slow down and fish the area you are at when you know that there is
activity in that area. So many times anglers tend to leave an area where the fish are. Give
them a good chance to turn on.
The pads north of Whaleys Landing are also holding some big fish. Flipping with a black
blue tail jig has been very productive. On the west side of the lake across from Reds Fish
Camp is also a good area, as is the south side of Browns Point. Ever try a fluke on
beds? If not, try them. Watermelon has been a great color. Also June bug lizards have
been doing great.
At this time of year we do not get many storms. But when we do they tend to be heavy
wind producers, so if one is coming get off the water for a while and be safe, not sorry.
Happy Fishing,
