Friday the 13th Fishing
Terry C. Yorker
My longtime fishing partner Tom Lavery and I decided to take a day off and go crappie fishing. The day we picked was bright and not to windy, so off we went for our favorite crappie lake. After launching the boat, we drove to an underwater island that tops out at 7ft and falls to 20 at the edges. It was about 9;30 when we started fishing and we both got bit on our first casts-and our second and third!
It was arguably the best fishing day Tom and I will see in our lifetime. We caught between 300-400 crappie until we quit at 4;30. At one point I caught 13 on 13 casts and tom caught 11 on 11casts.
We caught most of our fish on Lunker City Finesse Fish and Finesse Shad in the 2 inch size-color didn't matter. Charlie brewers crappie grub caught its share also.
On Monday I called Tom at work to ask if he knew we were fishing on FRIDAY THE 13TH.
