Fishing for Bass in My Pond - Part 2

Another Senko bass - that is not a rope across the pond, it is the rod behind the bass.  You can see in this picture and others how stained the water was in my pond.

This little bass could not see how big it was and attacked a Senko.  It was not much longer than the bait!

A deformed bass - the backbone was curved near the tail. I have caught a good many bass with this deformity over the years from Georgia lakes.  Have no idea what causes it.  This is the fish that hit twice and still had a Senko and hook in its mouth when I caught it the second time.

Three that did not make it - the 4-12 that I caught twice, the deformed fish with two hooks in its throat, and the 1-15 that swallowed the hook.  Had to leave for an hour to get an ice chest for them - did not want to waste them.

The last bass I caught - it hit a shiner at 7:15 PM.

The bait was big!  This is one of the Golden Shiners I was using for bait.  This size bait eliminates bites from small bass - I have caught nothing smaller than 3.5 pounds on bait this size. There are a lot of these shiners in my upper pond and I catch them on floating fish food and a #6 hook. Usually catch about 10 bluegill to one shiner. I keep a floating minnow bucket in the pond and keep about three shiners this size in it until I decide to take them fishing.
