Georgia Bluegill
I caught this Georgia bluegill in my pond last summer. In its full mating colors, it was right at 10 inches long, the biggest I have caught in the pond. I call these adult bream "Stump Knockers" because they are often caught around stumps and the head with the hump of an adult bluegill makes it look like it has been butting a stump. That was a name I heard growing up. You can see a can of floating fish food that I feed them and use for bait on the rock in the background.

Another picture of the bluegill above with the rod and reel I caught it on. The outfit is a Shakespere Microlight loaded with 4 pound line. I caught the fish on a piece of the fish food I feed them. The little pellet jams in the crook of a light wire #6 bream hook just right to leave the point exposed.
