A 49 INCH WEED FISH

A couple of years ago, mid morning of a bluebird sky summer day, I was fishing a weed bed in a southeastern Ontario river. I was casting a homemade spinnerbait into a patch of lily pads where I had seen movement before, when the fish struck. A family fishing for bass near by saw the fish break water and came over to have a look. While fighting the fish I chuckled as one of the little girls in the boat exclaimed "Daddy, I don't want to catch one of those!"
I proceeded to hand land the fish and they offered to photograph it. This done, the fish was released (out of the water for less than 30 seconds) to the congratulations from all in the other boat. They asked questions about Muskies and I gave them answers as best I could. We all went away happy.
An added bonus was a couple of photos which I received by mail a few weeks later!
