Dick Cooper's 8lbs.-4ozs. largemouth bass
Dick caught this largemouth bass on 4/11/99. It weighed 8lbs. - 4ozs. He says:
"I was fishing at Mount St. Francis Lake in southern Indiana just across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY. It was about 11:30 A.M. in bright sun and real clear
water that I took a hit on a Cotton Cordell Big-O. I was using ten pound Stren Sensor. Now, I don't mean to offend anyone, but I brought it in on a Zebco 33 mounted on a Rhino 6'-6" rod.At first I thought I had hit an
underwater stump, but the line started pulling to my right. It did not
put up much of a fight until I got it up
along side the boat. When I saw how big it was, my heart really started
pounding, and I placed the rod across my back as I reached for its mouth. This
was my largest bass, and I knew I was going to have it mounted. So, I packed it
in crushed ice to get it home.
