Wisconsin Spinnerbait Pike
I caught this 30 inch, five pound plus pike near our cabin on Monday. For some reason they started hitting in the river leading to the dam late that afternoon and I caught a bunch in about an hour. This was the biggest. All hit the spinnerbait you can see in this fish's mouth. I got them on closeout at Mel's Sporting Goods in Rhinelander.

This small pike hit right at dark - it is hard to see, but there was a beautiful full moon rising in the background. It doesn't show up good in this picture but it looked like a big orange pumpkin floating above the trees.

That morning Fritz and I had driven up to Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior to try for smallmouth. It was foggy so we started fishing at the ramp, and I caught this pike on a grassbed out from the ramp. It weighted about 3.5 pounds and hit the same spinnerbait I would use later for the bigger one. This was the same day Fritz caught his huge pike.
