Fritz's Big Pike
During Weekend X Upnorth 03 Fritz and I went over to Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior. There was an 8000 foot breakwater with a lighthouse on the end that we fished. Out near the end I was fishing a PopR topwater bait and was reeling it in fast to make another cast. A brown torpedo was following it and I point it out and held my hands apart about four feet. Fritz was smart enough to cast a Senko to it and the results are below.

The fish fought hard, making several strong runs near the boat. The 10 pound test Yozuri line held good.

After a long fight I netted the fish, my net was almost too small, and Fritz worked to unhook the huge pike..

The pike weighed 11 pounds and was 38 inches long, a beautiful fish that slowly swam off to fight again.
