    Lake Weiss Lake Fishing Report

    6/12/2000

  • DATE: 6-19-00
    LAKE LEVEL: 562.9
    WATER CLARITY: Good
    SURFACE TEMP: 85*F

CRAPPIE: Crappie are slow now. You can catch a few in the early morning
or at night 8-12ft deep on the river channels.

BASS: Try buzz baits or spinner baits early and Carolina rig worms and
lizards during the day on deep humps and drop offs. Green is still a good
color even if it just has a green tail.

BREAM: There are still good catches being caught using crickets or red
    wigglers in 2-6ft. of water.

STRIPE: Good catches of stripe are being caught in the early AM and
late PM on live shad on ledges and channels 14-20ft. deep.

CATFISH: Fishing has been excellent. Catching smaller ones on chicken
livers and night crawlers and bigger ones being caught on cut shad.

CARP: Believe it or not carp like dry dog food. This is a good time to
bait your dock or favorite sand bar with the cheapest chunk dry dog food
you can find. If you have a dock, try hanging a minnow bucket over the
side with dog food in it. Then soak a few chunks in water, just enough so
you can get it on a hook but it won't fall off "Dangle" the baited hook
next to your minnow bucket and get ready to have a fight .Just be sure to
be quiet on your dock The carp will not come up to feed if you have kids
jumping up and down on the dock. Some also using bows and arrows in
    shallow waters.

    GOOD FISHING!!!
