B.A.S.S., Inc. and GMAC Insurance announced a new sponsorship and affinity
marketing plan designed to provide a customized insurance plan for B.A.S.S.
members. The benefits of B.A.S.S. Vehicle and Boat Insurance include
competitive low rates; many discounts, such as price reduction if a member
insures multiple vehicles; access to a nationwide network of claims
adjusters; an emergency expense allowance; reimbursement for locksmith

Shaw Grigsby, Jr. was awarded the "Chevy Truck Like a Rock Award" for
reaching the million dollar mark in B.A.S.S. earnings. "This is the most
prestigious award given by Chevy," Jeff Haag, Chevy Trucks Marketing
Manager, said. "We look forward to giving this award out to anglers that
prove to be dedicated to the sport of fishing." Former Chevy National Truck
Manager and present General Manager of Chevrolet Motor Division, Kurt
Ritter, was the first to receive the award in 1995. Ritter felt that the
award should go outside of Chevy and since then the award has been given
for humanitarian and conservation efforts. Larry Nixon, Rick Clunn and
Denny Brauer have received the award in the past.

Fishing Tackle Retailer, B.A.S.S. Inc.'s trade publication, presented
Excellence Awards on behalf of independent tackle retailers across the
country at the Classic Outdoor/ICAST Trade show. First-place awards were
given for the following: Best Overall Warranty/Repair Service, Shimano;
Most Technically Innovative & Functional Products, Shimano; Best Overall
Support, Berkley; Best Overall Wholesaler, Henry's, Morehead City, N.C.

The all-time B.A.S.S. Pro money winner is Denny Brauer of Camdenton, MO,
with $1,522,901.90. Brauer also holds the single season all-time money
winner title when, during the 1997-98 season he won $347,900.
