Flint River Bass Club and Griffin K-Mart Event - 6/5/99
Members of the Flint River Bass Club set up our first "Casting Kids" even at the Griffin K-Mart store on National Fishing Day. We were not sure anybody would show up!

Twenty-five kids did drop by to try their skills. They cast, flipped and pitched to targets on the ground. Club members that tried found it much more difficult than expected. Below are two contestants standing on the targets.

At the July club meeting at Shoney's, the winners were presented with their awards - a rod and reel, and a winners' medalion. Ashley Brown (l) from Molena won the 11 - 14 age group and Rod Peoples (r) of Hampton won the 7 to 10 age group. They will advance to the state competition next spring.
