I have a news article that I would like to get out, the Title is compliance with catch and release. Before this accomplishment anglers would have to take the fish 18 miles to the local super market. The laws of Arizona state you cannot transport a live fish. That's why we worked so hard to solve this problem at a World Class lake.

    Certified Scale

In a joint effort over a three year period of time a certified scale has been installed at Canyon Lake. The joint effort was between John Geede Mgr. Canyon Lake Marina, Bill Warman local Fisherman, Steve Bozek local fisherman, Jim Warnecke Regional VI Fisheries Manager and the staff at Arizona Game and Fish.

This effort will make it easier for bass fisherman who regularly practice catch and release to weigh their fish, and then release the bass into the lake. The certified scale is located at the guard shack. Contact a security guard and they will assist you in certifying your catch. I applaud the joint effort that has been put fourth between all parties. Thank You
