Georgia's Lake Oconee Guide Todd Lowe

    5/31/99

I fished with guide Todd Lowe on Georgia's Lake Oconee the last week of May for a Georgia Outdoor News article. The bass were already moving to their summer holes, and he caught two nice keepers on Carolina rigged worms. Lake Oconee has a slot limit on bass - you can keep those between 6 and 11 inches long, and those over 14 inches. We caught a bunch shorter than 14, and I even caught a catfish on a worm.

This is the bigger of the two bass he caught - a good three pounder!

Here are both of the over 14 inch bass he landed in the three hours we fished.

Lake Oconee is a great summer bass lake. Todd guides there - you can reach him at 706-453-1956 if you want him to show you how to catch bass like these, or some of Oconee's slab crappie.
