Jekyll Island 2000
June 28, 2000
Since 1980, I have spent the last week of June at the Georgia Association for Pupil Transportation conference on Jekyll Island, Georgia. We have meetings all day and tehre iws no time to really enjoy anything about the beach. This year I did bring my laptop so I could check email and get my newsletter out. I don't get to do any fishing, tho.
Here I am hard at work on the newsletter in my motel room!
Sure is easy to get distracted, tho, with the beautiful beach just out the window.
One of my favorite pastimes here is going out to eat seafood. Here are
friends Neal and
Brenda Caraway at Frederica House - I had a bowl of seafood gumbo, a salad,
fried scallops and oysters with French fries and hushpuppies, and topped it off
with a slice of cheese cake. I might have to get a bigger boat when I get
home!
