    Trick Worms
    Marvin Adams

    Dateline: 9/13/99

I use trick worms almost exclusively in tournaments in the central Florida area along with flipping to win several tournaments. I team them with a Falcon 7' lowrider, a Quantum 600ti reel, and Gamakatsu straight shank hooks. The hook size determines the weight instead of bullets. 15# Tri-lene Big Game is the preferred line locally.

Yellow Zooms work all year around except in spawning season when Sour Grape seems to have a big advantage. When shad are running on the small size we switch to finesse worms in Watermelon Seed, Pumpkin Seed and Sour Grape. Water color dictates the color of the bait. If the water is brown I use a brown, green with green, etc. Bait fish tend to take on the color of their surrondings.
