Ordering Fishing Plugs On the Net

Join a discussion of ordering fishing supplies on the net on the Forum!

When I renewed my BASS membership this year, they sent me a Fat Free Fingerling. I threw it in the boat and forgot about it. At a February West Point tournament, I hung the plug I was using and broke it off. When I opened the compartment to get a replacement, there was the Fat Free Fry, so I tied it on.

I caught two keepers in that tournament including a 4-2. Two weeks later, I caught three of my four keepers on it in a club tournament. When Linda and I went to Clark Hill a couple of weeks later, I used it to land two five pound bass and several other good 3 and 4 pounders. (you can see the plug in the picture) Obviously, I liked the plug!

Just my luck, I hung the plug up and lost it just before we went home. As soon as I got back I started trying to find a replacement. As usual I went to Berrys, a local sporting goods store. He did not have them but agreed to order me some. He said he was sure he could get them within two weeks, before my next tournament.

I kept checking just in case, but could not find them anywhere else. I called Bass Pro Shops and they did not have them. Then I checked my library of links and found Excaliber lures listed under their parent company, Pradco. I order two and they arrived the next day!

Although I paid a lot extra I was glad to get the plugs. Berrys was not able to get them for me, after all. If other companies continue to provide fast service like that, ordering over the net will become more more more popular. Check out all the companies listed in my tackle library of links and see if you can order from them. I will check there from now on!

I will continue to buy form local tackle stores because of the service and info they provide, but the net may be the way to get those hard to find items!
