 I also received a 5500C3 for Christmas 2000. It is a wonderful reel that I have had no problems with in two seasons of hard fishing. (three-four times a week, plus one solid week in Wisconsin and another in Canada. It has held up exceptionally well, and seems just as smooth today as it was out of the box. I also have 4 other models of the 5500, all of which are great reels.
