Tip of the Week - Sharpen your hooks and always be ready to set the hook. I was using an old plug with dull hooks in my pond Tuesday afternoon, and on the FIRST cast "Oscar" grabbed it. I was not ready and did not get a good hook set and lost the bass. (Oscar is the name Linda gave the 6 1/2 pound bass in our pond - I caught it once and have hooked and lost it twice in the last month!)

Each Monday I will put every visitor's name from one Sunday NOON to the next in a 'hat' and draw one as the winner. Every log-in will be counted as one visit, so the more times you visit the board, the more chances you have to win! The winner will be notified by email and posted here. There will be one winner per week.

This contest is, of course, an unabashed attempt to get people to use my boards! The only requirement is that posts must be related to fishing.
