Joke for this Week - Occasionally, airline attendants make an effort to make the "in-flight safety lecture" and their other announcements a bit more entertaining. Here are some real examples that have been heard or reported: From a Southwest Airlines employee: "Welcome aboard Southwest Flight XXX to YYY. To operate your seat belt, insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works just like every other seat belt, and if you don't know how to operate one, you probably shouldn't be out in public unsupervised."
=====================================
Trivia Contest - http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/blcontest.htm - Answer a trivia question, be entered into a drawing for a prize - prize the week of 8/23 -830, A pack of Gary Yamamoto Twin T's Skirts and a pack of Curly Tail Grubs.- All correct answers received during the week, before noon on Sunday, will be placed in a drawing for the prize
=====================================
Chat Room - http://fishing.about.com/mpchat.htm
Always open, I host on most Wednesday nights from 8 to 9 pm.
Drop in chats every night from 8 to 9 pm. I try to be there from about 8 to 10 EDT most nights - Check it out for chatters between 8 and 9 in your time zone.
NOTE - If you drop in and no one is there, type
*beep enter on and float the chat window. You can go do something else and your computer will beep when someone enters the room.. Email me if you are having problems getting in.
======================================
Tip of the Week - Try lighted boat docks at night for bass, crappie and bream. During a tournament last Saturday night, the only bass I caught hit a #5 Shadrap under a dock light. Lots of bream were feeding there too. That is a good pattern at night.
======================================
Message Boards - You will have to re-register for the new boards. If you sign up to join, you should be registered for the new boards. If you have problems, let me know.

Every visit to the Freshwater Fishing Board - http://fishing.about.com/mpboards.htm - during the week is eligible for a prize. Each Monday I will put every visitor's name from one Sunday NOON to the next in a 'hat' and draw one as the winner. Every log-in will be counted as one visit, so the more times you visit the board, the more chances you have to win! The winner will be notified by email and posted here. There will be one winner per week.

This contest is, of course, an unabashed attempt to get people to use my boards! The only requirement is that posts must be related to fishing. The board is for fishing info so ask a real question, respond with an answer you know, or post information about a trip you took. They can be original posts or responses to posts. All the details and a list of past winners can be found at http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/blboardcontest.htm

8/23/99 through 8/30/99 - Prize this week, A Stanley Vibra Shaft Wedge Spinnerbait
======================================
Upcoming Events - There is a calendar of events on my site - http://fishing.about.com/mevents.htm - where I list any event I can find related to fishing. I have also posted notes about this site - when articles will be updated, chat topics, fishtales and other things. If you have any event you would like posted there, please email me. I can post them years in advance!
======================================
Thought for the Week - Men are like buses. They have spare tires and smell funny
=======================================
Fishing The Net - http://fishing.about.com/msubfishnet.htm - Each week I feature five to ten sites I have found that week. I get them from newsgroups, email and surfing the net. Check these sites out - they change each week and are moved to my library of links at the end of each week. If you have your own site or a favorite that you would like me to list, email me!
======================================
Bonus Joke - "In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, oxygen masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child traveling with you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with two small children, decide now which one you love more.
=======================================
