Joke for this Week - I had been doing Tech Support for Hewlett-Packard's
Desk Jet division for about a month when I had a customer call with a problem
I just couldn't solve. She could not print yellow. All the other colors
would print fine, which truly baffled me because the only true colors are
cyan, magenta, and yellow. For instance, green is a combination of cyan
and yellow, but green printed fine. Every color of the rainbow printed
fine except for yellow. I had the customer change ink cartridges. I had
the customer delete and reinstall the drivers. Nothing worked. I asked
my co-workers for help; they offered no new ideas. After over two hours
of troubleshooting, I was about to tell the customer to send the printer
in to us for repair when she asked quietly, "Should I try printing
on a piece of white paper instead of this yellow paper?"

between 8 and 9 in your time zone.

enter on and float the chat window. You can
go do something else and your computer will beep when someone enters the

Tip of the Week - Take a hike! If you are visiting parks and heavily
fished areas, a walk away from the crowds will pay off in fish. You do
not have to be as extreme as my "death
march" at Yellowstone, but putting a little distance between you
and the crowds is worth it!
======================================
Message Boards - You will have to re-register for the new boards.
If you sign up to join, you should be registered for the new boards. If
you have problems, let me know.
Every visit to the Freshwater Fishing Board - http://fishing.about.com/mpboards.htm - during the week is eligible for a prize. Each Monday I will put every visitor's name from one Sunday NOON to the next in a 'hat' and draw one as the winner. Every log-in will be counted as one visit, so the more times you visit the board, the more chances you have to win! The winner will be notified by email and posted here. There will be one winner per week.
This contest is, of course, an unabashed attempt to get people to use my boards! The only requirement is that posts must be related to fishing. The board is for fishing info so ask a real question, respond with an answer you know, or post information about a trip you took. They can be original posts or responses to posts. All the details and a list of past winners can be found at http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/blboardcontest.htm
8/16/99 through 8/22/99 - Prize this week,
A Stanley Vibra Shaft Wedge Spinnerbait

email me. I can post them years in advance!

Thought for the Week - Always take time to stop and smell the roses...
and sooner or later, you'll inhale a bee.
=======================================
Fishing The Net - http://fishing.about.com/msubfishnet.htm
- Each week I feature five to ten sites I have found that week. I get them
from newsgroups, email and surfing the net. Check these sites out - they
change each week and are moved to my library of links at the end of each
week. If you have your own site or a favorite that you would like me to
list, email me!
======================================
Bonus Joke - Customer: "My computer crashed!" Tech Support:
"It crashed?" Customer: "Yeah, it won't let me play my game."
Tech Support: "All right, hit Control-Alt-Delete to reboot."
Customer: "No, it didn't crash - it crashed." Tech Support: "Huh?"
Customer: "I crashed my game. That's what I said before. I crashed
my spaceship and now it doesn't work." Tech Support: "Click on
'File,' then 'New Game.'" Customer: [pause] "Wow! How'd you learn
how to do that?"
