Bragging Board - http://fishing.miningco.com/library/weekly/blbrb.htm - This week, the Georgia Outdoor Writers Association met in Rome, GA and fished the Rocky Mountain Public Fishing Area.
=======================================
Joke for this Week -A 27 year old woman from France lost control over her car on a highway near Marseilles and crashed into a tree seriously injuring her co-driver and killing herself. Accidents like this occur quite often and usually don't qualify for a Darwin Award nomination. This accident is special because the drivers attention for the road was distracted by her Tamagotchi which hang on the car keys and beeped for food. Wanting to save the Tamagotchis life the French woman ignored the road and killed herself.
=====================================

*beep enter on and float the chat window. You can go do something else and your computer will beep when someone enters the room.. Email me if you are having problems getting in.

Tip of the Week - Try a soft jerk bait early in the mornings. Zoom Flukes, Bass Assassin Glass Shad, Bass Pro Shops Shadee and others will draw strikes from big bass on humps and points - especially if herring or shad are spawning or feeding in the area. Use thin diameter line and a light wire hook, and make the bait dance and glide like a lost baitfish!
======================================
Fishtale This Week: - The Slo-o-o-o-w Approach - http://fishing.miningco.com/library/weekly/bl990503.htm - Jim Pope tells how to fish a jerk bait.
======================================
Message Boards - Every post to the Freshwater Fishing Board - http://fishing.miningco.com/mpboards.htm - during the week is eligible for a prize. Each Monday I will put every post from one Sunday NOON (this is a change) to the next in a 'hat' and draw one as the winner. The winner will be notified by email and posted here. There will be one winner per week.

This contest is, of course, an unabashed attempt to get people to use my boards! The only requirement is that posts must be related to fishing. The board is for fishing info so ask a real question, respond with an answer you know, or post information about a trip you took. They can be original posts or responses to posts. I will use the 'Show Post from 1 week' button to select the posts for the contest. All the details and a list of past winners can be found at http://fishing.tqn.com/library/weekly/blboardcontest.htm

5/9/99 through 5/16/99 - Prize this week, a Rat-L-Trap crankbait
======================================
Upcoming Events - There is a calendar of events on my site - http://fishing.miningco.com/mevents.htm - where I list any event I can find related to fishing. I have also posted notes about this site - when articles will be updated, chat topics, fishtales and other things. If you have any event you would like posted there, please email me. I can post them years in advance!
======================================
Thought for the Week - Middle age is a time when it takes longer to rest than it does to get tired
=======================================
Fishing The Net - http://fishing.miningco.com/msubfishnet.htm - Each week I feature five to ten sites I have found that week. I get them from newsgroups, email and surfing the net. Check these sites out - they change each week and are moved to my library of links at the end of each week. If you have your own site or a favorite that you would like me to list, email me!
======================================
Bonus Joke - A young couple got married and left on their honeymoon. When they got back, the bride immediately called her mother. "Well," said her mother, "so - how was the honeymoon?" "Oh, mama," she replied, "the honeymoon was wonderful! So romantic..." Suddenly she burst out crying. "But, mama, as soon as we returned Sam started using the most horrible language - things I'd never heard before! I mean, all these awful 4-letter words! You've got to come get me and take me home... PLEASE MAMA!"

"Sarah, Sarah," her mother said, "calm down! Tell me, what could be so awful? WHAT 4-letter words?" "Please don't make me tell you, mama," wept the daughter, "I'm so embarrassed - they're just too awful! COME GET ME, PLEASE!!!" "Darling, baby, you must tell me what has you so upset... Tell your mother these horrible 4-letter words!"

Still sobbing, the bride said, "Oh, mama...words like: Dust, Wash, Iron, Cook..."!
