=====================================
From Jekyll Island this week. I am at a conference - but I hope to work
in a little fishing around the meetings! I hope to join chat a couple of
nights this week if the Comfort Inn has lines I can use.
=====================================
Site of the Week -
Fishing
Diary - Cute site where a father and son keep a record of all their
fishing trips. The story of the phirst phish is very good, although I think
Levi had some help writing it! It is a great site for Father's Day week.
=====================================
Chat Room -
http://fishing.about.com/mpchat.htm.
Always open, I host on most Wednesday nights from 8 to 9 pm.
Drop in chats every night from 8 to 9 pm. I
try to be there from about 8 to 10 EDT most nights - Check it out for chatters
between 8 and 9 in your time zone.
NOTE - If you drop in and no one is there, type
*beep enter on
and float the chat window. You can go do something else and your computer
will beep when someone enters the room..
Email me if you are having
problems getting in.

This Week's Feature: - Pond Fishing
-
http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/aa062298.htm - Ponds are fun to
fish and you can catch a bunch of fish. I always have to get in the water
to fish them, though!
=======================================
Tip of the Week - Take your children fishing. Go to a pond where they
can catch something. Use live bait and help them out. Make it a fun trip
for them - carry along lots of snacks and drinks. Don't try to make them
fish - let them enjoy everything about the trip. You will help get them started
on a lifetime of enjoyment. For more tips on how to do this, read Bryan Hurley's
fishtale this week and 'mommyfish's fishtale -
Remembering
Mother' on 5/4/98.

Fishtale This Week: -Taking My Three Year Old Fishing -
http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/bl980622.htm
- Bryan Hurley tells a story that is perfect to make you think of the
reason for Father's Day..
======================================
Message Boards - Every post to the
Freshwater Fishing
Board -
http://fishing.about.com/mpboards.htm
- during the week is eligible for a prize. Each Monday I will put every post
from one Sunday midnight to the next in a 'hat' and draw one as the winner.
The winner will be notified by email and posted here. There will be one winner
per week.
This contest is, of course, an unabashed attempt to get people to use my boards! The only requirement is that posts must be related to fishing. The board is for fishing info so ask a real question, respond with an answer you know, or post information about a trip you took. They can be original posts or responses to posts. I will use the 'Show Post from 1 week' button to select the posts for the contest. All the details and a list of past winners can be found at http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/blboardcontest.htm
6/22/98 through 6/29/98 - Prize - A Camo Cap from Pennington
Wild Game Products.

Joke for this Week - PEANUTS - A businessman walks into a bar after
a day at the office, sits down, and orders a drink. He grabs a handful of
peanuts from the bowl on the counter, and as he takes his first sip, he hears
a voice say, 'That's a beautiful tie, is that silk?' Wondering who would
make such a strange comment, he looks around and doesn't see anyone near
him who could've been speaking to him. With a shrug, he finishes his drink
& peanuts and orders another.
Next he hears a voice say, 'Those shoes are stylin', my man. Are they Italian leather? They look grrrreat.' He whirls around to again see no one near him. He glances nervously around and then at his shoes, which he tucks self-consciously under the stool. A little wierded out, he grabs another handful of peanuts and orders a third drink.
This time the voice continues with, 'That suit looks fantastic. Is it an
Armani? You are *SO* G.Q.!' He immediately calls the bartender over and says,
'Look. I keep hearing these voices telling me how great my tie, my shoes,
and my suit look- What's up with that? Am I going crazy?' 'Oh no,' the bartender,
nonchalantly replies, 'those are just the peanuts.' 'The peanuts?!?' the
astonished man asks, staring at the bowl beside him. 'Yeah,' replies the
bartender, '...they're complimentary'.

Thought for the Week - Raising teenagers is like trying to nail jello
to a tree!
