This Week's Feature: "Magazine Hype" http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/aa980202.htm
Some magazines use contests to promote their product. Have you won yet? I tell of my experiences in this week's feature.

Tip of the Week - I fished Lake Hartwell with Chris Baxter, Zoom Bait Company rep, this past Sunday. He caught a five pounder the first place we stopped on a jig and a Zoom Super Salt Chunk. A jig and pig is an excellent bait this time of year for big bass. The one he caught was around riprap in the back of a cove. The sun was shining on it. Often in cold water fish will move around riprap and other rocks to feed since they warm up and hold the heat. That attracts baitfish like shad. Rocks also offer hiding places for crawfish, just about the favorite food of bass, so a jig and pig is a good bait to try. Use a light jig - 1/4 ounce - so it will not get hung up in the rocks as bad.

Fishtale This Week: "Crazy Baits, Part 2" http://fishing.about.com/library/weekly/bl980202.htm
Jim Pope continues his tale of the unusual baits he make to beat his partners fishing for Tennessee bass.

Message Boards are available at http://fishing.about.com/mpboards.htm
Use them to post any questions. There is an up-to-date thread on striper fishing at Lake Lanier in Georgia that might be helpful if you are planning a trip. If you have any info, please add it.

Joke for this Week - Seems a blond thought her husband was cheating on her so she bought a pistol. She went home early one day and caught him with another woman. Confronting him, she put the pistol to her head and cocked it. "No, don't," her husband shouted. "Shut up, fool," she responded. "You're next!"

Thought for the Week - If all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail!
