The Bottom Line
This is an excellent lure retreiver that is sturdy and well built. It stores easily in your boat and will save most of the lures you get hung up on the bottom if you are fishing from a boat.
Pros
- Well built, sturdy
- Easy to use
- Easy to store
Cons
- End not designed to grab lure, can be a problem if the lure is hung in old line.
Description
- A pole-type lure retreiver either 15 or 18 feet long.
- Good system to secure line to the end of the pole.
- Plastic disk on end should not cut your line during process.
Guide Review - Fishing Lure Retreiver
I received a Go Get It lure retreiver to try, and it works well. I used it to get a $6 crankbait off a stump in 14 feet of water - I would have lost the bait without the retreiver.
The Go Get It is strong and easy to use. The locking rings should not bind with time like some do on lure retreiver poles. The one I received is 18 feet long, plenty long enough to reach most hung plugs and as long as any other lure retreiver pole I have seen.
The Go Get It is an aluminum pole in sections that slide together. Plastic locking rings hold each section extended. It can be used from four feet long collapsed to 18 feet long totally extended. A plastic device on the end secures your line and grabs the plug to push it free.
If a plug is hung on old line, you will not be able to push it free with the Go Get It, but is may catch the hooks and allow you to get it back.
