Merritt's Mill Pond One of the best shellcracker lakes in the state, with 202 acres, in Jackson County. Lake Miccosukee East of Tallahassee, this 6226 acre lake of grass is good for bluegill. Middle Lake Near Dade City, good bass, bream and crappie fishing Lake Miona A 418 acre Sumter County lake that is excellent for bass. Lake Monroe Seminole County 9,406 acre lake on St. Johns River, good for crappie. Moon Lake Fish Management Area 100 acre lake near New Port Richey Myakka River River and lake fishing on this "wild and scenic" system Nassau County Creeks Nassau Wildlife Management Area offers Thomas, Mills and Boggy Creeks with excellent bass fishing and good bream fishing Nassau River Excellent striped bass fishing, limited largemouth bass fishing New River Scenic narrow river with good bass fishing and excellent redbreast fishing. Newnans Lake Just outside Gainsville, this lake offers 5800 acres of largemouth, crappie and hybrid fishing. Ocala National Forrest Captain David Gaines guides here, the St. Johns River, Kissimmee and Stick Marsh for bass using live wild shiners. Lake Dorr, Lake Bryant, Lake Kerr, Lake Eaton, Lake Jumper, Mill Dam Lake and Grasshopper Lake are in this area, as well as about 600 other lakes. Ocean Pond 1774 acre lake good for bass and bream in early spring Ocheesee Pond Jackson County 2225 acre lake where bass fishing is good but bream fishing is better. Ochlockonee River From the Georgia line to Lake Jackson, the upper river is shallow and tough to navigate but has good bream fishing, also contains Swannee bass. The lower river from Lake Talquin dam to the gulf is good for bream, bass and stripers at times. Ocklawaha River Feeds Lake Ocklawaha (Rodman Reservoir,) is also good for bass fishing.
