How To Avoid Holiday Crowds and Catch Fish

By Ronnie Garrison, About.com

Popular holidays can crowd lakes and make fishing less enjoyable, and catching difficult. Try these tips to avoid the crowds and still catch fish.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: all day!

Here's How:

  1. Fish a private pond.
  2. Fish smaller streams and rivers rather than big lakes.
  3. Hike in to remote areas to fish.
  4. Run way up a creek or river on a big lake.
  5. Fish at night.
  6. Go at daybreak or dusk.

What You Need:

  • A boat, in some cases.
  • Your fishing equipment.
