Bream pictures Baiting up a hole for bluegill is simple and can be done in many different ways, but this one might not be for you. It works and you can catch a bunch of good eating bluegill, if you can eat them after baiting them up this way.

Do you have any special ways to bait up a hole for bluegill or ways to catch them? Share your techniques with us in the comments section below.

Another great way is to build a platform out in the pond using a post and a 3×3 sheet of plywood. Every time you clean fish, place the heads and gut on the platform. Let the flies do the rest!!!!

Good idea. I have seen platforms like that for dispersing lime into the pond and it should work for maggots, too. I think I would make it out of hardware cloth so they could work through the bottom tho. They would be more likely to fall into the water – they usually won’t go far sideways from the carcass but will burrow down and fall out.

Thanks for the idea.
