Tomorrow, Friday, February 24, 2012, the Bassmasters Classic starts on the Red River in Louisianna. Forty-nine of the top bass fishermen in the world will compete for the title. Winning will mean taking home a half-million dollars and maybe twice that much more in endorsements.
Familiar names like Kevin Van Dam, Shaw Grigsby, Denny Brauer, Aaron Martens, Greg Hackney and Gerald Swindle will be there. I will be especially watching and pulling for a couple of anglers I have done articles with including Keith Poche, Kevin Wirth and Greg Vinson. And Steve Kennedy is one of my favorites since he grew up in Georgia and I know his father from club fishing here.
