The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has started a new campaign to equate fish to kittens. They are trying to get gullible people to call fish "sea kittens" and insist you and I stop fishing since we are cruel to fish. All this from a group that kills sea kittens and puppies and throws them in dumpsters after claiming they are taking them to shelters.

Are you kidding me? this is the most insane thing i have ever heard. how do the two even compare with each other. It seems that somebody is being paid entirely too much. I fish for bass in my home lake and fish the occasional tournament but most of the fishermen I know treat the fish in their livewell as well as pets. PETA is out of it’s freaking mind on this one.
These idiots once again are showing their true colors, if stupid has a color. It is time, the beginnig of the year, to hit these morons where they really live and that is in the bank account. Don’t give them anything but make them pay. Every peice of mail, every Email your dog or cat, maybe even your goldfish receive costs them. Get your pets on the bandwagon as regular mail recipients. Or maybe you can make freinds with a sea kitten and get his name on their mailing!
Honestly if they are so worried about the creatures of the world then someone should tell them that they can no longer be vegetarians because they are taking food from the creatures that they are trying to protect.

PETA, EPA ,ACLU,naacp,acorn etc-etc-so far all of these alphabet soup organizations are just finding ANYTHING to disrupt normalness They seem to do or say anything to create divisions in american sociaty “divide and destroy ” by using “political correctness! I think they are nothing but a bunch of commies that should be removed from this country forcefully and without remorse not one of them has “improved” anything!
If kittens tasted like fish there would be a LOT less feral cats running around.:-)
The idiots at P.E.T.A. don’t give a damn about animals or you’d see them working at animal shelters or helping out with animal rescue.
All they want to do is hold meetings and see what sort of ridiculous B.S. they can come up with in order to annoy regular people.
In China they do! There is a bill in China to stop the selling of Dogs and Cats for food.

I have caught many “sea kittens”, skinned them, loped off the heads and eaten them. They are best served with onions and pickles on rye bread. We all them catfish so perhaps they are actually adult sea kittens.
Having joked about all that; I do feel that ethical treatment of animals is smart and just.
Didn’t think about catfish sea kitten angle – cute! I treat animals ethically but still use them for food and sport – some would hate that.
I heard crap like that before when I still was living in Germany. Same ol’ same ol’. The next step was, they brought out a law you couldn’t fish with live bait fish anymore. You first had to kill it before putting it on the hook. Great idea, because predator fish like e.g. Pike won’t worry much about a dead piece of fish presented on the hook. The next nonsense was, you immediately had to kill the fish that you were intend to take home instead of keeping it live well. They said the live well caused too much stress on the fish. Killing the fish and then to throw it away because it might be rotten by the time you get home was so much better.
Quite honest, those people do not really have a clue what BS they are blabbering and can kiss my ….
PETA admits they would like to ban fishing – and hunting. Step by step they will get there if we don’t stop them now.
I have two pets in my house, a cat and a goldfish. Personally, I’ve never had any trouble telling the two apart.

PETAs ads show their animals in cages. Most people go to a pet store to get a pet. PETA can’t feed all the feral and wild animals they “catch”, so why don’t they trade them to the Asians, thus reducing the $14T deficit? That would be a practical way to handle their “ethics”.
Then PETA would stand for People Eating Tasty Animals!

These people are totally crazy. I believe in the ethical treatment of animals, but carrying this to fish is crazy. In biblical times there were fisherman and Jesus supported them. These fisherman provided food for people and, I am sure, for cats and dogs. Now, it is wrong? Do these people have professional educators working for them or do they just make up things. How do these people feed themselves. Do they only eat plants? Are plants not a living thing? Do they feel pain when you pick a vegetable or fruit? Vegetable brutality!! In the past, there have been controlled hunting periods to control the over population of deer. PETA were present during this activity screaming animal brutality. Have any of them ever seen a deer or any animal dying from starvation? That is brutal!
I think these people are crazy and need some mental help. I am in agreement with them when it comes to cats, dogs, cows etc, because they feel pain. Fish do not have the brains to feel pain. Maybe they need and lot more education. They should be saving their money and put into programs that need it.
Gog put us on earth and he made us masters of all birds, fish, and animals. IS HE WRONG?????
