Anyone who foolishly throws a legal walleye back thinking it is a trash or rough fish is missing some of the best eating to be found. At the risk of pissing off the entire population of the southern states, they are even better than crappie! The best eaters are fish in the 14″-18″ range. If anyone is interested I have some good recipies for their preparation.
We don’t have walleye this far south so I really can’t compare but I have had some fresh ones when I was in Wisconsin. Both Crappie and Walleye are good.
